BCRA Awarded Bids for BOPREAL Series 1 for USD1,179 million (NV) at the Third Auction

The third auction of the dollar-denominated securities called BOPREAL Series 1, which stands for Bond for the Reconstruction of a Free Argentina in Spanish, concluded today. All bids were awarded for USD1,179 million (NV), reaching an aggregated amount of USD1,304 million (NV).

The increase in demand highlights the great value of BOPREALs as an instrument to overcome the historical crisis of foreign currency shortage, thus meeting the commercial debts for imports of goods and services accumulated as of December 12, 2023.

The BCRA will continue conducting auctions of BOPREAL Series 1 during January 2024 for up to the maximum issuance amount determined for this Series (USD5,000 million (NV)). Each auction will be announced in due course.

For more information on BOPREALs’ requirements and on the procedure for importers to participate in the auctions, please see the guide prepared by the BCRA.
