The BCRA Participated in On-Site Visit of a UN Technical Committee

The BCRA took part in the on-site visit of the Technical Secretariat of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) that took place during the second cycle of the Implementation Review Mechanism of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). Carla Cambellotti, Manager reporting to the General Management Office, and Germán Saller, Compliance Reporting Officer reporting to the Financial Information Unit (UIF), attended the meeting on behalf of the BCRA.

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina from June 28 to June 30, 2023. Representatives of the reviewing countries Sudan and Ecuador, and Technical Representatives of the UN, the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP), the Council of Magistrates, the Superintendence of Companies (IGJ), the Office of the Public Prosecutor, the Office of the Comptroller General of the Nation (SIGEN), the UIF, and relevant secretariats, undersecretariats and offices of the National Government attended the meeting.

Within the mutual review process aimed at monitoring the implementation of the Convention, information was updated regarding integrity practices, guarantees for freedom of information, international cooperation on asset recovery, anti-money laundering, asset confiscation and disposition, and detection of transfers of proceeds of crimes.
