BCRA-CONICET: Call for Submission of Research Projects Open Until Marc
The joint call of the BCRA and the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas, CONICET) for research projects will be open until March 1, 2022. An ad hoc commission made up of members nominated by the BCRA and CONICET—with federal representation and gender equality—will be responsible for analyzing the projects in different stages.
This initiative seeks to promote the development of new research projects related to the missions and duties of the BCRA. It is the first call of the BCRA together with the CONICET, within the framework of an agreement signed in October 2021 on Targeted Research Projects (Proyectos de Investigación Orientada, PIO) 2022-2023.
For the first submission stage, applicants must include a brief description of the project’s main aspects, addressing the prioritized research topics. The following topics will be prioritized in this call:
-Development of the domestic capital market, focusing on the retail segment
-Households' and companies' indebtedness
-International financial architecture
-Macro-econometric model for Argentina
-Impact of financial education programs
The selected projects will enter the second stage for final submission.
The projects will last two years. The results of the research will be published in the Ensayos Económicos (Economic Essays) journal of the BCRA.
The projects will be financed by the BCRA and will be managed by the CONICET through Fundación INNOVA-T.
