Sandleris met with Mario Draghi and Ilan Goldfajn at the BIS

Guido Sandleris, Governor of the BCRA, the President of the European Central Bank and the Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil were part of the central bankers’ meeting of the BIS.

Today, Guido Sandleris, Governor of the BCRA, met with Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank, and Ilan Goldfajn, Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil, in Basel, Switzerland, shortly before participating in the central bankers’ meeting held by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

Firstly, Sandleris met with his Brazilian peer. On that occasion, they discussed the evolution of the economy in both countries and the macroeconomic outlook for the region.

Later, Sandleris attended a meeting held by the Consultative Council for the Americas (CCA) which deals with such aspects of the international financial sector that have an impact on the region. The CCA is made up of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina.

Next, Sandleris met with Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank; they discussed the international financial context and the implementation of the BCRA’s new monetary plan.

Guido Sandleris also met with Agustín Carstens, General Manager of the BIS and former Governor of the Central Bank of Mexico.

The BIS gathers 60 central banks around the world whose countries account for 95% of the global GDP and promotes international cooperation to achieve monetary and financial stability.
