Standardized statistics on private sector external debt
This page presents the standardized statistics on private sector external debt prepared by the BCRA. Two sets of series are published: the private sector external debt positions derived from the Survey on External Assets and Liabilities, from December 31, 2017 onwards; and the historical series obtained from the Survey on Debt Securities and Other External Liabilities, from 2001 to September 30, 2017.
Both sets are disseminated on a quarterly basis and are prepared in accordance with current regulations and statistical cooperation agreements with the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos, INDEC). Due to the methodological and compilation differences between the two surveys, the series should not be compared with each other.
Survey on External Assets and Liabilities
The standardized statistical series on private sector external debt positions from December 31, 2017, are displayed on a quarterly basis. They are broken down by sector, and type of transaction, creditor, currency and country.
Statistics are based on the information obtained from the Survey on External Assets and Liabilities established by Communication A 6401, as supplemented. The BCRA has agreed upon the data published with the INDEC under a cooperation agreement.
Survey on Debt Securities and Other External Liabilities
The standardized statistical series on private sector external debt positions from 2001 to September 30, 2017, are displayed on a quarterly basis. These statistics are based on the information obtained from the Survey on Debt Securities and Other External Liabilities established by Communication A 3602, as supplemented.
