Request the rectification or deletion of a record in the Debtors Center
Request the rectification or deletion of a record in the Central Bank of Debtors of the Financial System.
Description
Find out the steps to follow, the necessary documentation and the requirements to request the rectification or deletion of a record in the Central Debtors of the Financial System, when you consider that the information published does not correctly reflect your situation.
The Debtors’ Center gathers information on debts and payment behavior reported by financial institutions and other obligated entities. If you detect a piece of information that you believe is incorrect or outdated, you must first manage it with the entity that reported it. If the answer is not satisfactory, you can request the intervention of the Central Bank.
Who is it for?
To people who:
– They consulted their situation in the Central of Debtors of the Financial System.
– They detected a record that they believe is incorrect or outdated.
– They have already made a claim to the entity that reported that information (for example, a bank or a card issuer) and they were unable to solve the problem.
Modality
Online
The management is carried out digitally, through the Central Bank’s complaint form.
Keep in mind
In order for the Central Bank to be able to analyze your request, it is important to:
– Have previously filed a claim with the entity that provided the data (bank, card issuer or other).
– Have the claim number assigned by the entity.
– Save the text of the complaint and the entity’s response, if any.
– Have your National Identity Document (DNI) and, if applicable, documentation that supports your situation (for example, payment vouchers or cancellation agreements).
Keep in mind that:
– The Central Bank does not directly load or modify the data: it is based on the information reported by the entities.
– This procedure is aimed at checking whether the register published in the Debtors’ Centre is in accordance with what has been reported by the entity and the regulations in force.
How to do it
1. Check your situation in the Debtors’ Center
Check the record that you consider incorrect and write down the relevant data (period, entity, situation).
2. Complain to the bank first
File a formal complaint with the entity that reported the data, asking them to review and, if appropriate, correct or delete the information. Ask for the claim number and keep a copy.
3. Wait for the bank’s response
Once you receive the response, or if the expected period elapses without a response, you can initiate the request with the Central Bank.
4. Gather the documentation
Have at hand:
– Claim number before the entity.
– Text of the complaint filed.
– Response from the entity (if any).
– Copy of the DNI (front and back).
– Proof and documentation that supports your position.
5. Access the Central Bank form
Enter the request form for rectification or deletion of registration in the Debtors’ Center and fill in your personal data, the details of the entity and the identification of the registry you want to rectify or delete.
6. Describe the order and attach the documentation
Explain why you consider the registration to be incorrect or should be deleted and attach all required documentation.
7. Submit the application
Send the form and save the receipt or procedure number to be able to follow up.
