This monthly report presents the status, outlook and evolution of retail means of payment in the country.
Summary
Immediate “push” transfers: more than 5 out of 10 operations managed by the networks involve a Uniform Virtual Key (CVU). o Managed by networks: 151.9 million immediate shipments were made for $3.7 trillion, which translates into year-on-year growth of 105.1% and 25.5%, in quantities and amounts respectively. 54% of the total had a CVU as its origin and/or destination, reaching 82 million operations.
Intra PSPCP: Immediate intra PSPCP shipments exceeded 67.3 million transactions (207.2% YoY) by $198.6 billion (144.3% YoY).
Transfer payments (PCT): Interoperable QR continues to gain share.
Interoperable PCTs: reach 26.4 million operations (72.7% YoY) for a total of $128.9 billion (15.5% YoY).
Initiated with QR: 18.7% were initiated with interoperable QRs, representing more than 4.9 million payments. 82.8% were made by customers who used their demand accounts and only 17.2% their payment accounts.
On the other hand, 43.2% of businesses credited payment accounts and 56.8% demand accounts.
POS starters with card credentials: 44.4% of payments were made by reading debit card credentials at a point-of-sale (POS) terminal, reaching 11.7 million transactions.
Initiated with random keys: 2.9 million of transactions used a token for their initiation (11.3%).
Initiated with a payment button: 16.7% originated in online transactions, reaching 4.4 million payments.
PCT intra PSPCP: reached 110.8 million payments for $ 288.2 billion, with year-on-year growth of 158.9% in quantities and 104.5% in amounts. 79.1% were initiated on the web and 20.9% with the reading of a QR code.
Immediate Debit (DEBIN): Immediate debits increased by 10.8% compared to the previous month, reaching 22.4 million operations for $159 billion.
Direct debit: the direct debit effectiveness indicator measures the ratio of transactions submitted to clearing against those credited to company accounts. With an effectiveness of 45.9%, it maintains the recovery of this instrument.
Cheques: 57.4% of the amounts cleared corresponded to ECHEQ.
4.9 million checks (physical and electronic) were cleared for a total of $2.0 trillion, maintaining an upward trend. ECHEQ’s share of the total number of cleared reached 31.5% in quantities (1.6 million electronic checks) and 57.4% in amount ($1,164 billion).
Rejections for reasons of “insufficient funds”: a year-on-year increase was observed in both quantities (37.6%) and amounts (53.3%). However, the relationship with the total number of compensated continues to show stable rates, of 0.7% in quantities and 0.5% in amounts.
Cards: debit card transactions maintain their leadership over credit cards.
Debit card transactions reached 167.8 million for $557.6 billion, representing growth of 21.2% YoY in amounts and 5.6% YoY in amounts.
In credit operations, year-on-year variations of -1.8% in amounts and -4.4% in amounts were observed, with 100.5 million payments being made for $666.79 billion.
Prepaid transport cards: 414.5 million trips were made (48.6% YoY), through the SUBE card, totaling $8.3 billion (10.3% YoY), evidencing the return to normality of passenger transit.
Electronic Invoicing for MSMEs (FCEM): in September, 87.6% of operations were carried out in pesos, with 82.9 thousand invoices entering the open circulation system (SCA) for $ 158.5 billion.
