Fabulous 15 International Coin Program “the Tango”
The Fabulous 15 International Commemorative Coin Program consists of a collection of silver coins that promotes the transmission of cultural aspects or customs that identify each participating country. This series brings together the main countries with a numismatic tradition, among which we can mention: Spain, Canada, Mexico, Austria, United Kingdom, France, China and South Africa.
This time, it is a coin alluding to the “Tango” and whose design was made in the Strategic Planning Management of the Treasury – Sub-management of Numismatic Issues of this Institution.
The characteristics of the coin are:
5 Pesos
Obverse Design
In the foreground, you can see the representation of a typical tango postcard, a dancing couple in a step of sensuality of the 2×4 on the cobbled floor; she wearing her skirt with a slit and he crowned with the “funyi”.
The background, as a hyperbole, presents the emblematic instrument of the musical culture of Buenos Aires, the bandoneon, honoring the best exponents who sailed this tradition. In the upper arch reads “TANGO”, on the right presents the face value “5 PESOS” and on the left the logo of the Fabulous 15 program “F15”.
On the left field, the Argentine ribbon with reminiscences of the art of filigree closes the composition.
Reverse Design
It presents in the central position the Argentine National Shield, in the upper arch the inscription “REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA” and in the lower arch, the year of minting “2013”.
