Verónica Rappoport gave the opening speech at the BIS conference

The BCRA Alternate Deputy Governor welcomed the region’s central bank representatives and scholars.

Verónica Rappoport, Alternate Deputy Governor of the BCRA, gave an opening speech today at the 10th Consultative Council for the Americas (CCA), held by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). She was joined by Enrique Alberola, representative of the BIS Americas, on the one hand, and by Mauro Alessandro, Economic Research Deputy General Manager; and Laura D´Amato, Macroeconomic Modeling and Forecasting Senior Manager, on behalf of the BCRA.

The CCA comprises the governors of central banks in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and the United States. This year, the event was organized by the BCRA and the BIS Mexico office, which coordinates initiatives in the region.

The Councils’ meetings, which will finish tomorrow, focus on topics of interest for this conference and calls for papers. After a peer-review process, some of the papers are selected for the meeting, and internationally renowned specialists and scholars are invited to comment on them.
