CAF (Development Bank of Latin America), together with Ibero-American central banks, is holding a contest called “Ideas for the Future”, where young students from Ibero-American universities are invited to write essays on integration, public policies, and innovation and productivity.
This initiative seeks to capture youth’s vision for the future (2030) of their countries, including challenges and barriers, and proposals for tackling them.
The BCRA has joined this initiative within the framework of actions in the field of education and promotion of economic research and analysis.
There will be awards for best essay at the national and regional levels in each of the following categories: i) integration, ii) public policies, and iii) innovation and productivity. Regional winners will present their essays as part of the CAF Conference to be held in Quito in November 2019, and will receive USD 2,000 each. The national winner per category in each of the participating countries will then take part in the general contest, which will bring together the 19 CAF shareholder countries.
