Within the framework of the extension of the mandatory quarantine ordered by the National Executive Branch until April 12, the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) resolved, through Communication A6949, that financial institutions will open their branches as of Friday, April 3 only for the attention of beneficiaries of pension benefits and pensions that are part of the Argentine Integrated Pension System (SIPA) or those whose administrative entity corresponds to provincial jurisdictions or the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, or beneficiaries of benefits, plans or aid programs paid by the National Social Security Administration (ANSES) or another payment administration entity.
The BCRA also determined that the unpaid balances of loans granted by financial institutions, whose installments are due between today and June 30, 2020, will not accrue punitive interest.
In the case of credit card expirations, customers of the entities will be able to cancel them on April 13, without any surcharge. From now on, the financing rate may not exceed 49%.
