The Embassy of the Republic of Poland donated a coin to our Museum

The embassy of the Republic of Poland in Buenos Aires has donated a commemorative coin issued by the National Bank of Poland to our Museum.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Buenos Aires has donated the commemorative coin of the Centennial of the Armed Action of the Polish Community in the Americas to our Museum. The coin was issued by the National Bank of Poland in commemoration of the 100 years of the creation of a Polish volunteer soldier legion in America, which joined the French army during World War I.

Mabel Esteve, Director of the “Héctor Carlos Janson” Numismatic and Historical Museum, received the coin from Grzegorz Sobocinski, first Public and Cultural Diplomacy Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Buenos Aires. The 10-zlotych silver piece was designed by Robert Kotowicz and minted by Mennica Polska SA.

This numismatic piece will be exhibited at San Martín 216, City of Buenos Aires, until February 28, Mondays through Fridays from 10 am to 4 pm.
