The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic presents the BCRA Digital Library, an institutional public access repository that provides online access to more than 6,000 digitized materials related to the Bank’s documentary, bibliographic, historical, and heritage output.
The site brings together institutional documents, research papers, historical BCRA regulations, documentation of the National Public Credit corresponding to the 1860-1936 period, periodicals, journals related to Argentine economic and industrial history, and an image bank with photographs of banknotes, coins, banking architecture, events, and works of art.
The BCRA Digital Library is aimed at researchers, journalists, students, and the public interested in Argentine economic, banking, and financial history. It offers free and centralized access to materials, with search tools by keywords, topics, authors, and periods.
The repository is part of a sustained effort to digitize, describe, and preserve the Bank’s documentary heritage. The platform allows for integration with other digital repositories and libraries, and will continue to incorporate new materials.
In this way, the BCRA Libraries strengthen public access to materials of historical, technical, and cultural value, and contribute to the preservation and dissemination of the Central Bank’s institutional memory.
