The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic extends the call to Argentine and foreign artists residing in the country to participate in the IX National Painting Prize Central Bank 2016, with the aim of preserving, promoting and stimulating national painting.
The works can be submitted until Monday, October 10 inclusive, only by email to the address: inscripcion.pinturabcra2016@gmail.com
The Jury is made up of Rafael Cippolini, Silvia Gurfein, Oscar Smoljan, Tulio de Zagastizabal and Mercedes Casanegra. The curator of this edition will be Eva Grinstein.
On this occasion, the prizes will be awarded as follows:

Stimulus awards for people under 35 years of age
First prize young artist acquisition | $50,000

The selected works that will make up the IX National Painting Prize of the Central Bank 2016 will be exhibited in a museum or cultural center to be designated in due course. On the opening day of the Prize exhibition, the juries and authorities of the Central Bank will present the prizes corresponding to each category.
As in previous years, the winning works will become part of the BCRA’s permanent pictorial heritage within the scope of its headquarters, which has been declared National Historical Heritage.
