The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) and the Deutsche Bundesbank signed an agreement establishing a framework for technical cooperation. The objective of this instrument, signed by Santiago Bausili, president of the BCRA, and Burkhard Balz, member of the board of directors of the Deutsche Bundesbank, aims to strengthen the BCRA’s capacities through training and specialized advisory programs, with a focus on the adoption of international best practices and concrete results for the Bank’s technical management.
The agreement provides for a joint work agenda with training and advisory activities that aim at concrete results in the Bank’s technical management. In addition, it includes the organization of seminars and expert tables in virtual and face-to-face format, both in Argentina and in Germany. For operational implementation, the agreement designates the BCRA’s International Affairs Management and the Bundesbank’s Centre for International Central Bank Dialogue as responsible units. Both institutions will hold annual planning and evaluation meetings to agree on the technical agenda. The validity lasts until the end of 2030 and can be renewed by mutual agreement.
The planned technical cooperation contributes to the strengthening of the BCRA’s institutional capacities, favors the adoption of international standards and deepens its integration into the international community of central banks.
