The BCRA and the Deutsche Bundesbank signed an agreement to lay down a framework for technical cooperation. This agreement, signed by Santiago Bausili, Governor of the BCRA, and Burkhard Balz, Member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank, aims to strengthen the capacities of the BCRA through training programs and advisory service, focusing on the adoption of international best practices and on achieving specific results that support the BCRA’s technical management.
The agreement establishes a joint work agenda with training and advisory assistance designed to deliver specific results in the BCRA’s technical management. In addition, it includes the organization of seminars and expert discussions to be held both virtually and in person, in Argentina and in Germany. The BCRA’s International Affairs Management Office and the Bundesbank’s Centre for International Central Bank Dialogue are the designated units for the operational implementation. Both institutions will hold annual planning and evaluation meetings to jointly agree on the technical agenda. The agreement will remain in force until the end of 2030 and may be renewed if mutually agreed.
The planned technical cooperation contributes to strengthening the BCRA’s institutional capacity, supports the adoption of international standards, and enhances its integration in the international community of central banks.
