The 2016 exhibition of the BCRA National Painting Award opens on Friday, June 2, at 8 pm, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Salta (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, MAC), located on Facundo de Zuviría 90, in the city of Salta. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 7 pm, until Sunday, July 2.
The exhibition will display the work of art Mobile Bleu Sur Blanc 1960/1995 by Julio Le Parc, winner of the Great Prize for Distinguished Painters, as well as other 32 selected works of artists from all over Argentina who have participated in the contest.
The works of art to be displayed were chosen by the jury, composed of Rafael Cippolini, Silvia Gurfein, Oscar Smoljan, Tulio De Zagastizábal and Mercedes Casanegra, with the curatorship of Eva Grinstein.
The exhibition will further be presented in the Museum of Contemporary Art (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, MAR) in Mar del Plata next August.
Visitors are provided with an audio guide—available on the izi.TRAVEL platform—to learn about the artists’ opinions, their techniques and artistic inspiration for their pieces of art.
