In the context of the pandemic declared by the World Health Organization in relation to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) established, through resolution No. 117 of today, to declare non-working days from March 16 to 31, 2020 for foreign exchange and financial actions instructed under the terms of the Laws of the Foreign Exchange Criminal Regime No. 19,359 and Financial Institutions No. 21,526, respectively, without prejudice to the validity of the procedural acts that are carried out during that period, since the intervention of the accused is not necessary in them.
Beyond this decision, the BCRA empowered the Superintendence of Financial and Exchange Institutions to decide which cases need to be resolved urgently and to commission the corresponding actions on these dates.
This provision aims to contribute to sanitary isolation, in line with the measures established by the National Executive Branch, and to preserve the health of both the staff of this institution and that of all the people who attend this administrative headquarters on the occasion of the substantiation of the instructed.
The decision of the Board of Directors is part of the measures adopted by the National Executive Branch (Decree No. 260/2020 that extends the public emergency in health matters) and by the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation that agreed, among other things, to declare March 16 to 31 of this year non-working days for the proceedings in process before all the courts that make up the Judicial Branch of the Nation.
