Today, starting at 2:00 p.m., the new 20-peso banknote with the image of the Guanaco will be launched at the Provincial School No. 27 Kar-Yen, in the city of Río Grande, province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands.
It will be attended by the Deputy General Manager of Payment Methods of the BCRA, Julio Pando; the director of environmental education of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Nation, Javier Goldschtein; the director of the institution, Mariana Unrein and more than 500 students from primary schools throughout the region. The event is aimed at the students of that establishment and 19 other schools in the city, represented by their flag bearers.
The $20 bill is the third in the new family “Native Animals of Argentina” that introduces the vertical design on the front of the bill and in turn a new way to raise awareness about the preservation of the environment.
From Wednesday, October 4, the ticket will be progressively distributed throughout the country.
