The Deputy Governor of the BCRA, Vladimir Werning, gave a presentation titled “Economic Stability Contributes to Better Public Health and Well-Being” at the International Health Congress 2025 held by the Latin American Association of Private Health Systems (Asociación Latinoamericana de Sistemas Privados de Salud, ALAMI) on September 25. The event took place in Buenos Aires.

AGENDA

| Argentina’s chronic disease (inflationary tax) and a noticeable symptom (domestic “hyposaving”).

| Detecting the root cause (fiscal deficit), and the risk factor in family history (public expenditure).

| The alarming diagnosis of 2023 (hyperinflation), and the intensive treatment implemented in 2024 (BCRA recapitalization).

| A surgical intervention (fiscal and monetary adjustment) supported by the administration of appropriate medication (social spending).

| Once the patient is stable (low inflation), the rehabilitation protocol is applied (more reserves, lower debt).

| Recovery is underway (credit crowding-in), showing a temporary scar (elections and high interest rates).

| Foreseeing the patient’s medical discharge (support from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the access of the Argentine Treasury to the market will reinforce stability).

| Possibility of longer life expectancy and a better quality of life (three medical records compared).
