The exhibition of the BCRA National Painting Award was launched on Thursday, December 15. It will be open to the public Mondays through Fridays, from 10 am to 4 pm, in the Museum of the BCRA located at San Martín 216, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
During the opening, Federico Sturzenegger and curator Eva Grinstein gave out the Great Award for Distinguished Artists to master Julio Le Parc for his work Mobile Bleu Sur Blanc 1960/1995.
The purpose of this award is to promote and spread Argentine contemporary art. Its ninth edition gathered over 2000 works by 763 artists from all over the country. The winning works have been chosen by a jury made up by Mercedes Casanegra, Rafael Cippolini, Tulio de Sagastizábal, Silvia Gurfein, and Oscar Smoljan.

The great award for distinguished artists and winning works will be part of the BCRA’s heritage.
The exhibition also shows selected works by the following artists: Walter Álvarez, Carlos Bissolino, Florencia Bohtlingk, Hernán Cédola, Juan Pablo Chain, Carlos Cima, Lucía Delfino, Marcolina Dipierro, Mariana Ferrari, Daniel García, Gala Gonzáles Magnasco, Carolina Grassi, Vicente Grondona, María Guerrieri, Lucas Jalowski, Federico Lanzi, Lux Lindner, Alejandro Montaldo, Fátima Pecci Carou, Sandro Pereira, Gastón Rasgido, Leila Tschopp and Valeria Vilar.
