The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) deeply regrets the event that occurred today at the Isidro Casanova office of the Banco de la Nación Argentina, in which a bank employee was killed during a robbery, and expresses its condolences to the family and colleagues of the victim.
In the next few hours, BCRA authorities will hold meetings with various agencies to obtain more information about what happened and with directors of the Banking Associations and the Banking Association in order to receive their opinions regarding the security conditions in financial institutions.
The BCRA will review the regulations on the matter to guarantee the safety of users and employees, both for branches and for those that appear in the so-called banking correspondents.
Finally, it should be clarified that the regulatory modification of December 27, 2019 only enabled the use of the digital DNI, being the reforms in banking security carried out in previous administrations, which have been questioned and will be analyzed in depth.
