The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), through Communication C86820, instructed the Superintendence of Financial and Exchange Institutions (SEFyC) to urge all banks in the country to strictly comply with the recommendations made by the Executive Branch to prevent and combat the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Among other measures, the National Executive Branch, through the Ministry of Health, established a series of recommendations especially aimed at companies and organizations with customer service.
Among the main indications, are the following:
- Visual recommendations. At all times it is advisable to make information available to the public on proper hand hygiene and proper respiratory hygiene or cough management in the presence of symptoms. Visual recommendations are usually useful at all access points to the facilities, in places easily visible to the general public.
- Proper hand hygiene. Through hand washing with soap and water, and with alcohol-based solutions (e.g., alcohol gel). It is important to sanitize your hands frequently, especially: after handling money, keys, etc; before and after handling garbage or waste; before and after eating and handling food; after having touched public surfaces: counters, handrails, doorknobs, railings, etc.
- Adequate respiratory hygiene. To prevent the spread of secretions when coughing or sneezing, cover your nose and mouth with the inner crook of your elbow or use a tissue. Companies and organizations must guarantee the availability of the necessary materials in waiting areas or high traffic. Provision of baskets for the disposal of used tissues, with a wide mouth, without a lid that forces contact. Provision of dispensers with disinfectant solutions for proper hand hygiene.
- Disinfection of surfaces and ventilation of environments. Various surfaces must be disinfected regularly to minimize the risk of transmission by contact: counters, railings, doorknobs, doors, etc. Disinfection should be carried out daily.
