Monday, December 30, 2019

The measure was due to expire on December 31. To give it a definitive solution as stipulated in the new law 27,541, a Commission will be created soon.

The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic agreed with the Ministry of Territorial Development and Habitat of the Argentine Nation to extend during the month of January 2020 the benefits to compensate for the increase in the installments of mortgage borrowers adjustable by Purchasing Value Units (UVA). This measure had been ordered in the context of the economic crisis that Argentina is going through.

The benefit had an expiration date of December 31, and implies the maintenance of the quota at the value of August 2019.

In view of the provisions of Article 60 of Law 27,541, a commission will be formed to evaluate the performance and consequences of the system of loans adjustable by UVA for the acquisition of housing, its social and economic consequences, taking into account the criterion of shared effort between creditor and debtor.
