Users of public utilities benefiting from subsidies will be prevented from trading in the forex market.

In accordance with a regulation adopted by the BCRA, beneficiaries of subsidies on public utilities will not be able to purchase foreign currency, unless they opt out of the subsidy.

The Board of the BCRA has established that those users of electricity, drinking water and natural gas distribution networks benefiting from a rate subsidy on any or all of the utilities will neither be able to access the official forex market nor carry out transactions with securities or other instruments settled in foreign currency.
