Authorities of the BCRA presented the rationale for a Charter reform before the Senate

Governor Santiago Bausili, Deputy Governor Vladimir Werning and other BCRA officials participated in the joint meeting of the Committee on National Economy and Investment, and the Committee on the Budget and Treasury of the Senate.

The Governor of the BCRA, Santiago Bausili, along with the Deputy Governor, Vladimir Werning; a Member of the Board, Marcelo Griffi; and the Supervisory Auditor, Ariel Montenegro, stated the economic grounds for an amendment to the Charter of the BCRA at the joint meeting of the Committee on National Economy and Investment, and the Committee on the Budget and Treasury of the Argentine Senate.

The meeting was held on Wednesday, September 9.

The presentation focused on the need for a reform to help preserve price stability, to limit the BCRA’s financing to the National Treasury, and to adjust the monetary authority’s legal and institutional framework.
