The ARS50 banknote of the new series “Argentina’s Native Fauna,” put into circulation in August last year, was nominated by the International Bank Note Society (IBNS) for the “Banknote of the Year” award from among more than 150 banknotes from all around the world. This is the third consecutive nomination from the IBNS for this series of banknotes.
While Canada’s CAD10 banknote won the award, the design and production of the banknote featuring the Andean condor earned recognition with the nomination.
The IBNS is a non-profit organization that has promoted and fostered the study of banknotes all around the world since 1961.
