The Governor of the BCRA, Miguel Ángel Pesce, and the Executive Director of the National Agency on Disability (Agencia Nacional de Discapacidad, ANDIS), Fernando Galarraga, signed a master agreement for cooperation to develop, boost and implement joint initiatives for the inclusion of people with disabilities.

The agreement signed today provides for the development of activities within the areas of common interest of both institutions, to promote and provide training on disability awareness, as well as to comply with the employment quota for the inclusion of people with disabilities.

In this sense, Pesce referred to the importance of the agreement and the joint work being carried out with the ANDIS. Then he added: “This agreement sets out a general framework to create work teams that may solve the problems raised by the ANDIS.

In turn, Galarraga highlighted the significance of the work done with the BCRA in order to boost the actual and effective inclusion of people with disabilities. “The agreement ratifies the joint work we have been doing with the BCRA that will have a direct impact on the quality of life of people with disabilities,” asserted the Executive Director of the ANDIS.

The agreement provides for the development of internal actions by the BCRA to promote accessibility in order to generate inclusive practices for people with disabilities. The ANDIS will provide advice on accessibility and training to the BCRA in order to mainstream public policies on disability. Moreover, the ANDIS has undertaken to search in the databases it manages applicants that meet the profiles required by the BCRA in order to cooperate in future selection processes.

Betina Stein and Claudia Berger, Members of the Board; and Marina Ongaro, Administration and Central Services Deputy General Manager, attended the meeting on behalf of the BCRA. The ANDIS was represented by Juan Pablo Ordoñez, National Director of Inclusion of People with Disabilities; Yanina Boria, Director of Accessibility; Paula Gargiulo, Deputy Director; and Carolina Castro, Head of Work Inclusion.

The ANDIS is a decentralized body under the scope of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of Argentina.
