How to participate in the Market Expectations Survey (REM)

Description

The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic invites institutions with experience in the analysis of the macroeconomic and financial situation to request their incorporation into the Market Expectations Survey (REM), a survey that regularly surveys the country’s main macroeconomic forecasts.

Participation is voluntary, free of charge and governed by admission criteria and requirements established by the Central Bank, which are detailed on this page.

Who is it for?

Participation in the REM is open to institutions that prepare and disseminate macroeconomic analyses and projections on the Argentine economy, including:

– Financial institutions.

– Brokerage firms and other financial intermediaries.

– Economic consultants.

– Study centers and think tanks.

– Other institutions recognized for their work in monitoring the economic and financial situation of the country.

It is not necessary to provide forecasts on all the variables or for all the periods surveyed in order to contribute to the survey.

Modality

Online, through a digital form.

Institutions must complete the application form and attach the documentation detailed in the “Required Documentation” section.

Required Documentation

At the time of applying for incorporation, the following information must be submitted:

1. Recent Report

A report prepared by the institution (not necessarily the last one published) that contains macroeconomic analyses or projections.

2. Report with at least one year old or relevant background

A report at least one year old in which the institution has disseminated forecasts on any of the variables surveyed in the REM, or other materials that prove the relevance or influence of the institution in the evaluation of the market (for example, journalistic notes or publications in specialized media).

3. Contact details of the people responsible for answering the survey

– Name and surname.

– Institutional email.

– Contact telephone number.

– Abbreviated curriculum vitae.

Keep in mind

To initiate the formal incorporation process, the Central Bank must verify that the institution:

– Has the technical skills to prepare macroeconomic projections.

– It has recognition in its field of action.

– Has experience and regularity in the preparation of periodic analyses and projections on some of the main macroeconomic variables of the country.

The submission of background information does not imply automatic incorporation into the REM: the Central Bank reserves the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the application.

All information submitted by the institutions will be treated with strict confidentiality.

The materials sent will not be publicly disseminated and will only be accessible to the team responsible for the survey.

Individualized forecasts are not published or associated with specific institutions.

How to do it

1. Gather the required documentation

– Prepare the recent report with macroeconomic analysis or projections.

– Select at least one report that is one year old and/or materials that prove the relevance of the institution.

– Gather the contact details and abbreviated resume of the people responsible for answering the survey.

2. Complete the REM application form

– Access the application form to join the REM available below.

– Enter the institutional data and contact details of the people responsible.

– Attach the required documentation.

3. Submit the application

– Verify that the uploaded information and attachments are correct and complete.

– Send the form so that the REM team can start the evaluation.

4. Wait for the evaluation and communication of the result

– Once the documentation has been received, the EMN team will carry out the corresponding evaluation.

– The result will be communicated to the contact persons designated by the institution.
