How to submit a freedom of information request to the BCRA. Everyone has a right to access public information in accordance with Law 27,275.
What is it about?
Public information is any data that government bodies may create, obtain, control, transform or keep. This is the definition found in Law 27,275 on Freedom of Information.
Under the provisions set forth in Section 7 (o) of Law 27,275, the BCRA is bound to provide public information.
You may access the information disclosed by the BCRA in the Active transparency section.
Who is it intended for?
For natural or legal persons. There is no need to explain the reasons for your request.

Cost of the procedure
Free of charge, except if print copies are requested (Law 27,275, Section 6).
How to do it

Fill out the fields of the form available on this page.
In person
Submit a letter at the front desk of the BCRA (Reconquista 266, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires) indicating the following details:
- – Name of the person, company or organization
- – National identity document (DNI) of the applicant or legal representative
- – Address (in full)
- – Telephone (optional)
- – Email address
- – Clear description of the information sought (including any data that may help to identify it)
Follow-up and response timeframe
You can check the status of your request by entering the request number.
The timeframe to receive a response may be up to 15 business days, and may be extended for an additional 15 days if more time is needed to gather the information. In that case, a notification will be sent by email to the address provided.
When may a request be denied?
The BCRA may deny a request only if:
- – The information does not exist or the BCRA is not legally bound to generate it.
- – The request falls within any of the exceptions set out in Section 8 of Law 27,275.
- – The highest authority or the relevant officer as set out in Section 13 of Executive Order 206/17 denies the request.
Important
Claims for fraud or scams, or other claims, complaints and suggestions involving financial consumers and financial institutions do not fall under the scope of the Law on Freedom of Information.
