Dakar Rally Argentina-Chile 2010
Within the framework of the Bicentennial of the May Revolution, the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic has issued a silver coin alluding to the 2010 Argentina-Chile Dakar Rally.
This sports competition with international projection has contributed to the rapprochement between countries. The diversity of landscapes in Argentina’s many regions has captivated contestants and viewers from all over the world.
The design of this numismatic piece was carried out in the Treasury’s Strategic Planning Management -Numismatic Issues Sub-management- of this Institution.

Obverse motif
It presents, in the central imprint, a motorcycle in action that alludes to the spirit of the Rally, which is speed, dynamism, vertigo.
The upper arch reads “DAKAR ARGENTINA-CHILE RALLY” and the lower arch “2010”, the year in which this sports competition took place, within the framework of the Bicentennial of the May Revolution.
Motif on the back
The representation of the rising sun as a symbol of our homeland in constant growth is observed; evokes the 200th anniversary of the May Revolution with the inscription of the years “1810 – 2010”. In the upper arch is “ARGENTINE REPUBLIC” and below the face value “1 PESO”.
