Credit Conditions Survey (CCS)
The Credit Conditions Survey (CCS) is a quarterly survey that aims to gather additional information on the behavior and trends observed in the bank credit market. The qualitative information obtained complements the set of quantitative statistics available to this institution, which are more frequently available, aimed at achieving a better understanding of the factors that influence the evolution of loans granted by the financial system.
The information obtained from the CCP constitutes a relevant input for the BCRA in its task of monitoring financial stability conditions, as well as for preparing and evaluating monetary and financial policy. In addition, the publication of the CCP’s results contributes to the CCP’s communication transparency policy, while making valuable information available to the public for decision-making.
The CCP is aimed at the heads of the credit area of the relatively larger financial institutions that make up the local market. The participation of financial institutions is voluntary. These entities together represent approximately 90% of the credit market to the private sector. The aim has been for the set of entities surveyed to be representative in the different credit segments surveyed. The data collected in the CCP is published in aggregate form, ensuring the confidentiality of the responses provided by each participating financial institution.
