Commodity prices

The index of commodity prices (índice de precios de las materias primas, IPMP) gauges the evolution of international prices of commodities which represent close to 50% of Argentine exports.

The IPMP is computed on the basis of the price of agricultural commodities (corn, wheat, soybean, soybean pellets, soybean oil, barley, bovine meat), crude oil, and metals (gold, copper, primary aluminum and steel) weighted by their share in total exports. The current weights are:

The IPMP is prepared and published daily on the basis of previous day’s commodity prices in American, European, and Asian markets.
