Bicentennial of the Passage to Immortality of General Manuel Belgrano

The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) issued a silver coin commemorating the Bicentennial of the Passage to Immortality of General Manuel Belgrano 1820-2020.

This coin is also distinguished by the fact that it bears the Argentine flag in color on the reverse for the first time.

Obverse motif

The main figure on the obverse is based on the equestrian sculpture by Manuel Belgrano that is located in the Plaza de Mayo. In its right corner, the inscription “1820-2020” represents the 200th anniversary of the commemoration of the Passage to Immortality of General Manuel Belgrano. In the upper arch it reads “REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA” and in the lower arch, “GRAL. MANUEL BELGRANO”.

Motif on the back

The reverse illustrates in the center the National Flag, represented in color, and the signature of the hero on the patriotic symbol. On the upper arch it reads “XX VI MMXX” and on the lower one, the face value “ONE WEIGHT”.
