The BCRA and the Ministry of Modernization, with the support of the Ministry of Social Development, carried out the first stage (co-creation) of the Financial Innovation Program. This year’s program is focused on financial inclusion.

The co-creation stage was held at the BCRA, on May 3. It was aimed at sharing experiences focused on financial inclusion, technology and innovation. The opening words were given by Lucas Llach (Deputy Governor of the BCRA), Rudi Borrmann (Undersecretary of Public Innovation and Open Government of the Argentine Ministry of Modernization) and Julián Costábile (General Coordinator of the National Microcredit Commission of the Argentine Ministry of Social Development).

The event was attended by more than 200 participants who worked on different topics: usability, sustainability, data and financial consumer protection. There was also a fair of innovative initiatives, a stand on the new means of payment promoted by the BCRA and a lecture on consumer-centered design.

Córdoba, Mendoza, Neuquén and Salta will also host the federal event for the first stage. The Financial Innovation Program has two more stages: hackathon (second stage), to be held on August 25 and 26, and incubation (third stage), which is the accompaniment to the projects selected in stage two.
