Alias CBU

What is CBU alias?

It is an alphanumeric code created by the Central Bank to be associated with a CBU and expand the usability of transfers and movements of funds within the banking system. It fulfills the same functions as the CBU but, as a nickname of the CBU, it is a combination between 6 and 20 characters that supports letters and numbers.

The alias CBU is:

  • unique for each account,
  • is unrepeatable for the entire financial system of the country,
  • It is portable, so a user of the banking system can unlink the alias from one of their accounts and link it to another account of their choice.

Like the CBU, the CBU alias can be consulted in home banking, by accessing with your card at ATMs, or in person at any branch of your bank.
