On Friday, November 24, the Nowcasting & Big Data Workshop was held with the aim of joining forces and sharing experiences and methodological approaches for the use of Big Data for forecasting and to learn how efforts in this direction are being developed in different government institutions such as central banks or statistical offices.
The main speakers were: Nikos Askitas (Coordinator of Data and Technology, IZA Institute of Labor Economics), Domenico Giannone (Assistant Vice President Macroeconomic and Monetary Studies Function, Federal Reserve Bank of New York) and Pablo Pincheira Brown (Assistant Professor, Adolfo Ibañez University).
