US dollar auction held on behalf of the Ministry of Economy
As requested by the then Ministry of Finance, between April 15 and August 28, 2019, two daily auctions of dollars were held on behalf of that ministry, with a daily amount of 60 million dollars to reach a cumulative total of 9,600 million dollars.
These auctions were carried out following this process:
– A call was made through the SIOPEL platform of the Electronic Open Market. The participating entities had 3 minutes to upload their bids, in which they expressed their interest with up to two bids per auction, with a minimum amount of 1 million dollars each, in increments of 1 million dollars and with no maximum.
– Once entered, offers could not be modified or canceled. The bids were awarded with multiple prices after the auction closed and, if necessary, a pro-rata system was used.
– The first auction began at 12:00 p.m. and the second at 2:45 p.m.
