Fifty years after the creation of the United Nations Organization in 1945, the Institution developed a Coin Program to commemorate such an important event, which consisted of two collections, one of gold, in which seven countries participated (Argentina, Belgium, Belarus, China, France, Russia and the United Kingdom), and one of silver made up of thirty-six countries (Afghanistan, Armenia, Argentina, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Belarus, Benin, Bhutan, China, Cuba, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, France, Gambia, Ireland, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Liberia, Luxembourg, Malawi, Maldives, Malta, Morocco, Namibia, Norway, Oman, Russia, Seychelles, South Africa, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Uruguay).

Although the Argentine Republic was part of both collections, the commercialization in the country was carried out exclusively around national pieces. The desire of our country to achieve a world in peace is reflected in the design made by the plastic artist Carlos P. Rodríguez Dufour, which shows the Argentine National Coat of Arms, over which a dove flies, a universal symbol of peace.
