In its ninth edition, the 2016 Central Bank National Painting Prize had the participation of 763 artists from all over the country. The jury made up of Rafael Cippolini, Silvia Gurfein, Oscar Smoljan, Tulio De Zagastizábal, Mercedes Casanegra, with the presence of curator Eva Grinstein, selected the following artists:

The selected works will be exhibited at the José Evaristo Uriburu Historical and Numismatic Museum (h), date to be confirmed. On the opening day of the Prize exhibition, the juries and authorities of the Central Bank will announce and present the prizes corresponding to each category. As in previous years, the winning works will become part of the BCRA’s permanent pictorial heritage within the scope of its headquarters, declared National Historical Heritage.
