DEBIN | Immediate Debit
DEBIN is an online transfer in which the person who collects initiates the procedure and the payer must only accept it (with an authorization operation by operation that is called “DEBIN spot” or with a general authorization in the case of “recurring DEBIN”).
The Central Bank incorporated the DEBIN (immediate debit) in 2016. This means enabled financial institutions and new players in the payment industry to debit funds from the bank accounts of their customers who authorize payments.
DEBIN allows you to pay with a direct transfer and also request it from your PC or cell phone.
Unlike the other means of payment, DEBIN is an immediate online transfer through which the person who collects initiates the process and the person who pays only has to accept it. To this end, the systems of Home Banking and mobile banking added the “DEBIN Payments” menu, where the user can generate payment requests and also see the list of requests received to accept or reject them.
DEBIN accepts payments in pesos or dollars, between accounts of the same currency. To make a DEBIN, you only have to enter the name of the account at sight (CBU or Alias CBU) or payment account (CVU or Alias CVU), without adding other data such as the DNI or CUIT. It also allows you to schedule, for recurring collections, the automatic acceptance of future orders made from certain accounts, with fixed dates and limits.
The Central Bank appointed the low-value clearing house (COELSA), which is under direct regulation of the monetary authority, as the administrator of these operations. This institutional design makes it possible to guarantee competition in this industry.
