BCRA Indicators | Commodity Prices

The Commodity Price Index (CPI) measures the evolution of international commodity prices that account for about 50% of Argentina’s exports.

The prices of agricultural commodities (corn, wheat, soybeans, soybean pellets, soybean oil, barley, beef), petroleum (crude oil) and metals (gold, copper, primary aluminium and steel) are considered, weighted according to their share of total exports. The current weightings are:

The MPPI is prepared and published on a daily basis based on the prevailing prices in the commodity markets of the United States, Europe and Asia of the previous day.
