Coin 30th Anniversary of the Recovery of the Malvinas, Georgias and South Sandwich Islands

30th Anniversary of the Recovery of the Malvinas, Georgias and South Sandwich Islands

The issuance of the $2 bimetallic coin in circulation quality is commemorative of the 30th Anniversary of the armed conflict of April 2, 1982 and the recovery of the Malvinas, Georgias and South Sandwich Islands.

In addition, the piece disseminates the bicontinental map of the Argentine Republic, which shows the Antarctic sector in its real proportion in relation to the continental and insular sector. Law No. 26,651 determines the obligation to use this map throughout the educational system, as well as its public display in all national and provincial agencies.

The design of this coin was made by Arch. Fernando González Llanos, former combatant soldier in Malvinas, who works in this institution. Of the total number of circulation-quality coins minted, 15,000 units have a smooth edge and are presented in a cardboard case consisting of an envelope and sample book containing one (1) coin and the characteristics of the issue.
