50th Anniversary Coin Law No. 13,010

50th Anniversary Law No. 13,010

BCRA - Commemorative Coin 40 years of Democracy
By means of Law No. 13,010, promulgated on September 23, 1947, the Honorable Congress of the Argentine Nation established the Compulsory Female Vote throughout the country. Article 1 of this law establishes that “Argentine women shall have the same political rights and shall be subject to the same obligations accorded or imposed by law on Argentine men.”

Mrs. María Eva Duarte de Perón was of great importance in the implementation of this law, which implied meeting the expectations of millions of citizens and ending a situation of discrimination against women, which is why she was granted recognition for its achievement.

Half a century after the entry into force of the norm that instituted women’s suffrage, such an important event is commemorated with the issuance of two coins of circulation with values of $1 (one PESO) and $0.50 (fifty cents), both of similar characteristics to those currently in force.

Likewise, a presentation was made that includes both coins in a cardboard case with a brief historical review, the characteristics and specifications of the pieces minted in their commemoration. 5,000 cases numbered from 1 to 5000 were made, containing both pieces.
