2010 World Cup in South Africa

The Board of Directors of this Central Bank authorized the participation of the Argentine Republic in the Commemorative Coin Program of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa with the issuance of gold and silver coins.

The designs of the obverses were prepared in the Treasury Planning and Control Management – Control, Design and Numismatics Sub-management of this Institution.

Obverse motif

It presents, in the central imprint, a multiple effigy representing the Argentine fans with the national flag. On the left arch is “ARGENTINE REPUBLIC” and on the right the year of issue “2010”.

Motif on the back

It shows, in the central area, the isotype that identifies the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and, below, the face value “5 PESOS”. On the upper arch is the legend “FIFA WORLD CUP SOUTH AFRICA 2010”.
