All the Electronic Payment Options Available for Next Long Weekend

Bank branches across the country will be closed to the public tomorrow due to Independence Day holiday in Argentina. Electronic channels such as online banking, mobile banking, and ATMs will operate as they usually do on public holidays so that users may conduct the following:

  • Instant transfers
  • Money transfers
  • Transactions through QR code with an electronic wallet or bank apps
  • Transactions on debit cards
  • Transactions on credit cards

Most banks and electronic wallet providers have developed mobile applications that allow to make cashless payments.

Both customer and merchant derive benefit from this method. The latter has the funds available immediately at low cost under a commercial agreement.

Moreover, non-bank cash withdrawal points will be in operation in supermarkets and pharmacies, among other stores.

The BCRA has further adopted all necessary measures to ensure that financial institutions have banknotes available for ATM refilling in order to meet the demand for money during those days.

The Argentine financial system has more than 18,000 ATMs and over 18,000 non-bank withdrawal points across the country.
