December 30, 2019.The BCRA agreed with the Ministry of Territorial Development and Environment of Argentina to extend until end of January 2020 the freeze on UVA-adjusted mortgage loans, a benefit for debtors derived from offsetting rises in installments. This measure was ordered in the context of the economic crisis Argentina is undergoing.
The benefit amounted to freezing the value of August 2019 until December 31.
In line with the provisions of Law No. 27,541, Section 30, a committee will be created to assess the performance and effects of the UVA-adjusted mortgage loan system to purchase housing units, as well as its social and economic impact, applying the criterion where both creditor and debtor make efforts.
