The first stage of the Financial Innovation Program (PIF) closed on Tuesday, July 31. Teams from different parts of the country submitted 130 projects, which got more than 1,500 likes from the public.
The three editions of the PIF, organized by the Central Bank together with the Ministry of Modernization, , aim to promote technological innovation to improve financial services on a sustainable basis and within everybody’s reach. The 130 projects were from the following provinces: Buenos Aires (Banfield, Boulogne, La Plata, Mar del Plata, Merlo, Navarro, Pablo Podestá, Parque Leloir, San Antonio de Padua, San Martín, Vicente López); City of Buenos Aires; Chaco (Barranqueras, Resistencia); Córdoba (Alta Gracia, Córdoba, Jesús María, Río Cuarto, Villa Allende); Corrientes (Corrientes, Yapeyú); Entre Ríos (Basavilbaso, Concepción del Uruguay, Gualeguay, Paraná); Jujuy (San Salvador de Jujuy, San Pedro de Jujuy); La Rioja; Mendoza; Neuquén; Río Negro (Allen, Cipolletti, General Roca, Villa Regina); San Juan; Santa Fe (Rosario, San Cristóbal); and Tucumán (San Miguel de Tucumán). On Tuesday, August 21, the ten selected projects will be disclosed and will move to the Enhancement stage. In this stage, teams will have the chance to seek the advice of experts and leaders in the IT industry to improve their projects.

The 2018 Financial Innovation Program has been structured into four stages, from May to November:
1. Project Uploading | To participate, each team must upload its project through the platform innovaciónfinanciera2018 no later than Thursday, July 31.
2. Selection | The Assessment Committee will select 10 projects that will be part of the enhancement stage. From August 1 to 20.
3. Enhancement | Finalists will have the chance to improve their projects together with experts from the Central Bank and fintech industry leaders.
4. Event | Presentation of projects selected, debates, fair and awarding of prizes. November.
