In 2016, the ninth edition of the National Painting Award sponsored by the Central Bank of Argentina welcomed 763 artists from all over the country. Jury members Rafael Cippolini, Silvia Gurfein, Oscar Smoljan, Tulio De Zagastizábal and Mercedes Casanegra, together with curator Eva Grinstein, nominated the following artists:

Nominated artworks will be exhibited at the “Dr. José Evaristo Uriburu (h)” Numismatic and Historical Museum on a date to be determined. On the opening day of the Painting Award, jury members and authorities of the Central Bank will announce and award the prizes to each category. Like in previous years, winning paintings will become a part of the pictorial heritage of the Central Bank within its facilities, which has been declared National Historic Heritage.
