The Governor of the BCRA, Santiago Bausili, and the President of the Argentine State Lottery Association (Asociación de Loterías Estatales Argentinas, ALEA), Ida López, have signed a cooperation agreement to prevent compulsive, illegal and underage gambling.
This agreement is the first step taken by a working group that brings together different government agencies, the ALEA, provincial lotteries, gambling agencies and several players of the financial system and means of payment. It seeks to develop mechanisms and design controls to prevent harmful practices that have been growing lately, such as illegal online gambling, collection of bets by unlicensed third parties and the impact on various groups of the population, especially minors.
The commitment undertaken by the BCRA and the ALEA seeks to boost all the alternatives available to prevent the welfare and development of minors from being adversely affected.
The BCRA and the ALEA will implement programs, provide training and exchange information to find the most efficient solutions.
