Verónica Rappoport Gave the Opening Speech at the BIS Conference

May 23, 2019. The BCRA Alternate Deputy Governor, Verónica Rappoport, opened today the “Tenth Consultative Council for the Americas” (CCA) organized by the “Bank for International Settlements” (BIS). She headed a panel attended by the BIS representative for America, Enrique Alberola, and two representatives for the BCRA: the Economic Research Deputy General Manager, Mauro Alessandro; and the Macroeconomic Modeling and Forecasting Senior Manager, Laura D´Amato.

The CCA is composed of the central bank governors of Argentina, Brazil, Canadá, Chile, Colombia, México, Perú and the United States. This year, the organization of the Conference was under the charge of BCRA and the BIS office in México—which coordinates these initiatives in the region.

The Councils' meetings, which will finish tomorrow, focus on interest topics for this conference and calls for papers of attendants. After a peer-review process, some of the papers are selected for the meeting, and internationally renowned specialists and scholars are invited to comment on them.
